The Mistakes I’ve Made is the fourth book in the By The Bay Series of stand-alone novels set on Ocracoke Island. This story is about Taylor Sutherland!!! Yes, Dean’s brother! I was so happy when I saw that Taylor was going to get his own book. As usual, I fell in love with Taylor and Lani. I have loved every book in this series, but you do not have to read them all. They are a series of stand-alones with interconnecting characters and stories. How cool is that? I am seriously contemplating moving to Ocracoke Island, well, after Hurricane Florence leaves, so I can become friends with Taylor, Dean, Jake, Molly, Millie, Lani and everyone else.
The story is about Taylor (a local) and Lani (hotel heiress) and how they leave their baggage behind and learn to look into themselves and not worry about what other people say they should do. It is a very heartwarming story with breathtaking scenery.
