Series: Shooting Stars #3
Release Date: September 2, 2018
Finding out my husband, my best friend, only had months to
live was devastating.
Sitting out under the star-filled sky, listening to him wish on star after
star, night after night, almost killed me.
He never wished to get better.
He wished for me to be happy.
He wished for me to find the strength to move on.
I told him his wishes were pointless, because happiness wouldn’t exist without
him.
I found out soon after he passed away that I was pregnant.
But I had no idea his final wish would bring me something I never thought I’d
find again.

One Last Wish is the latest book in the Shooting Stars series. Gabe and Aubrey get together when she is 17 years old and then there is a major time jump to when she has just lost her husband and is pregnant. To me, I would have liked a little more to Gabe and Aubrey’s story because I didn’t get to connect with Gabe and feel his loss like Aubrey did. I get it though, this is a quick read and some things are not able to be fleshed out.
I think this book is about second chances and finding love after loss. I think what Aubrey really found was passion. I’m not sure she had that with Gabe, at least that is what I read between the lines. She definitely has that and much more with Denver. Denver is, very much in Ms. Reynolds’ style, an alpha male ready to protect and care for his loved ones. He is the hero Aubrey needs and he fills that role effortlessly. I guess he’s had a long time to wait to get the chance since he has been pining for Aubrey since they were teenagers.
I have to admit that One Last Wish isn’t my favorite in this series, but it is an entertaining and sexy story and definitely worth a read. I do highly recommend these books. You can’t go wrong with this author’s alphas!
Underground Kings and Shooting Stars.
