world to see. Five years of trying to find the girl I hid from the world.
into the building? He’d made my high school years a living hell.
a one-night stand.

I just finished this book and feel the need to put my thoughts down immediately. I think there was truly every emotion in this book, from happy to sad, nervous to confident. The story is about a jock and a music ”geek” (I don’t like that word, as I was in band in high school also) meeting up later in life. The jock was the tormentor of the music “geek” in high school. After an unexpected encounter, Cole (the jock) sets out to prove to Mari (the music “geek”) that he’s changed but she isn’t so sure. This book deals with bullying issues so incredibly well. If it weren’t for some super steamy sex scenes, I’d say this book should be required reading for all high schoolers. Bullying is a tough and sensitive topic that Rebecca deals with beautifully and encouragingly (is that a real word? LOL).
This is the first book I have read by Rebecca Brooke, but it certainly will not be my last. I hope she writes more about the members of Jaded Ivory. Would like to learn more about Sawyer. Hint hint…..
Brooke grew up in the shore towns of South Jersey. She loves to hit the beach,
but always with her Kindle on hand. She is married to the most wonderful man
who puts up with all her craziness. Together they have two beautiful children
who keep her on her toes. When she isn’t writing or reading (which is very
rarely) she loves to bake and binge watch Netflix.
