The Knight had me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. Picking up right where The Pawn left off, we again follow Avery in her quest to save her family home while trying to save her dignity after auctioning her virginity to the highest bidder, who happens to be the man that ruined her father.
This book was full of so many twists, turns and revelations, I found myself unable to put it down until I reached the end. I loved the “new” Avery – strong and more assured then ever. Life has thrown awful things in her direction and yet she tries to remain standing with her head held high with the grace of a lady.
Gabriel, well, I am still not sure about him. So many times I feel like he will redeem himself and then he pulls another despicable act and I find myself disliking him again. He is a villain yet a gentleman, a great conundrum to my mind and heart.
This is the second book in the series and cannot be read as a standalone. It simply will not make sense. The Knight is wonderfully written and suspenseful. This series has made me a huge Skye Warren fan and I am waiting impatiently to find out what happens next!!!
