“I was watching you, Saige. I enjoy watching you.” Maybe that was bold of me, but I don’t care.

She audibly gasps, her chest rising and falling with each quick breath she takes.

I fix my eyes on hers and continue. “And I saw you watching me.”

Her upper lip twitches as she thinks of a sarcastic comeback. I can see the vein in her neck throbbing, along with the beat of her pulse before she finally whispers, “We shouldn’t do this.” She pulls a green olive off the toothpick floating in her martini, then she pops it into her mouth. The green olive matches her eyes perfectly.

I watch her shift uncomfortably in her chair for a few seconds before I respond. “Why not?”

“Because you’re my boss.” So naïve, sweet little Saige is.

“I’m actually not,” I tell her.

She frowns. “You own the company I work for, same thing.”

I clarify, “I’m part owner of the company you work for.”

She sighs. “Holt, this is just drinks. That’s all.” But her eyes tell me she wants more.

I lean closer to her. “It’s never just drinks, Saige.”

I want to start off saying that this is my first Rebecca Shea book but it will NOT be my last. Wow! Dare Me was an amazing story with great characters and writing…I could not put it down! I actually sat and read until I was done the book because I absolutely had to know what happened. It takes a lot to make me sit still for a long period of time, so this alone should be a ringing endorsement of the book.

Holt and Saige were H.O.T. together. Like squirm in your seat, getting the vapors, have to look for your man hot. I loved their chemistry! What set them apart for me besides their insane heat was the fact that their relationship seemed “real,” not the too-good-to-be-true-fairy-tale love that is so prevalent in books now. He really wants to help her through her pain; she really wants to move past her past demons to be able to truly love him.

I loved the Truth or Dare premise and how it carried through the whole book. An original idea that worked well with the plot.

There is a huge twist in the book but there is no cliffhanger. Dare Me will leave you clinging to your Kindles!!!!
