LET IT BE ME by Barbara Speak Review!!!

Arianna Dubray is nothing like the girl she left in Baltimore. Once a Prada shoe wearing, Michael Kors bag carrying, on top of the world seventeen-year-old girl, Arianna knew that her life would never be the same when she got out of the car in middle-of-nowhere Montana.
Canyon Michaels is the keeper of his own dark secrets. Plagued by his family name, he’s forced to prove the town wrong and make it on his own.
The last thing Arianna needs is a reason to stay, but with every passing day the decision to leave becomes harder. Once their paths cross nothing can tear them apart, other than the secrets that start to surface and the nightmares that soon become their reality.

I met Barb Speak in St. Louis at Penned Con this past July. I was on the lookout for authors that I knew nothing about and happened to strike up a conversation with her because of the cover of her book. Holy moly, have you seen that guy? Barb was so fun to talk to, I promised myself that in between scheduled reviews that I would read one of her books. Of course, Hotty McHotterson on the cover spoke to me so I dove in expecting something totally different then I got. This was a serious case of being wrong by judging a book by its cover. I got a romantic love story with a cowboy and a misunderstood girl, but more then that, there was mystery, a little angst, life and love lessons – just a fantastic book rolled into a cover I misjudged.

Honestly, I went in thinking that the story of Canyon and Ari was going to leave me all hot and bothered with lots of sexy times. How wrong I was! Barb explored their heartaches and their relationship with such eloquence I couldn’t help but be drawn in by these wonderful characters. I was enraptured with their story line from being to end; unable to put the book down until I found out all that I need to about their lives.

There is to be a book two but this can most certainly be read as a stand alone. If you have not yet discovered Barb Speak’s incredible writing style, I would have to wholeheartedly encourage you to do so now. I can not wait to learn even more about Canyon and Ari in book 2!!!
