A faceless name.
That’s all she was when I agreed to play a part in deceiving her.
And then the unexpected happened.

We met.

I yearn for her skin against mine.
I crave her scent on my body.
I want to make her laugh and then moan.
And I do… in secret.

I promised my business partner I wouldn’t touch his sister.
But I broke that promise.

Our little dirty weekends together are no longer enough.
I want my bohemian girl in my bed every night.
She wants a ring, marriage vows, and babies
… all things that I can’t give her.

Our romance is explosive.
Our love, epic.
Our ending, miserable… unless I bend.

If I don’t bend, I’ll break.

I let my weight sink into the cushions of the chaise lounge as I eye the backyard.
Trimmed hedges line the brick fence, towering palm trees rest in the corners. Wicker patio furniture with bright blue cushions decorate the covered patio and to round it off, is the infinity pool that overlooks the Las Vegas skyline.
It’s perfect.
Sometimes, I have the urge to pinch myself because I still can’t believe that this is my
The heat from the sun warms my skin, soaking into muscle and bone relaxing me to the point of senselessness.  I take in the view behind mirrored sunglasses as a big body breaks the water’s surface. Seth’s lithe form cuts through the water, smooth and deliberate. His last stroke short as he nears the side. Instead of turning for another lap he places both palms on the edge of pool and lifts himself out.  And I can’t help but to stare. Even now, when I know that body as well as I know my own. I’ve caressed every sinewy inch, memorized every peak, kissed every valley but I’m still in awe of all things Seth Cody.
He walks toward me, eyes unblinking, chiseled jaw clenched, and I fight not to fidget
under his gaze. He doesn’t stop walking until he’s right in front of me. Lowering, his solid weight settles near my hip and a soft pair of cool lips brush along the whiskers on my jaw in a slow tease before moving across my mouth.
Seth leans Into me, beads of water glisten on his tan skin and roll forward to splatter on my chest and arms, nimble fingers remove my sunglasses and I stare into sad
eyes the color of aged whiskey. His hands move into my hair as he angles my head licking up the center of my lips asking permission before his rough voice whispers a demand.
“Kiss me.” He says.
But I shouldn’t.
Last night we had words, spoke like two sensible adults, no yelling, no cursing, no tears. I made it clear that I don’t do relationships. Even when every fiber of my being is begging me to reconsider. I let him know that I have no intention of picking up the mantle and becoming a representation for gay men anywhere, let alone in the music industry. Regardless of the fact when I look into his eyes I see forever. I told him that being in Las Vegas, trying to get custody of my sister, being the leader and the glue for my band is more important than our fledgling relationship. Although the idea of never touching or kissing or simply being with him, really connecting as two human beings with lust and something that could be love is killing me.
I try to
turn my head away from the sweetest temptation but the hand in my hair hampers
my halfhearted escape.
“You want me, Adam. I’m right here.” He nibbles on my bottom lip. “Right in front of you. Take me.” He pleads. And this time when our lips meet, I let him in. I revel in
the pressure of his mouth and the heady taste I get when his tongue finally
breaks the barrier of my lips to twist with mine.
I ache for him. Always for him. Only for him. I groan into his mouth and curl a hand around the back of his neck pulling him into me. If this is the last time. I might as well make it count, right? I’m a glutton for this man. A whore greedy for his lust and desires. So, I take what he’s offering and plunder his mouth. I kiss him like it’s the last time, because it is. I kiss him like he’s precious and like I’ll miss him, because he is, and I will. I own his mouth the way I want to own his body, deep and sweet with the sting of pain.
We part on a breath, and I look up into those pretty, pretty brown eyes and for the first time since I told him we were over. I regret it.
He deserves better than me.
He deserves a man that can love him out loud and in front of world. One he can build a life and a future with.
I chose my path at seventeen and claiming a man for my very own has never been part of the plan. I have the music and my band, my family. I always knew fame would demand its due. It’s the way this world works I trail my fingers across the thin red material of his swim trunks. His shaft twitches under my touch and air hisses from his lungs at the contact. I smile because I love that his body is so expressive, reacting to the softest touch. I work my hands under the waistband of his shorts and pull them down his hips. I see nothing as I kiss down his chest, but unfettered inches of honey kissed skin and a long thick dick lined with veins tapered to a flared crown.
“Adam it doesn’t have to end here. We… ahhhh—”
The words die on his lips as I open my mouth wide and moan around his length as it slides along my taste buds to the back of my throat. His hands cradle the back of my
head, his hips involuntarily rolling with pleasure.
I suck him down like I mean it with succulent sounds and fuck me eyes. I suck until he haunches forward and my nose settles in the soft hair at the root of dick. I suck him until the muscles in his thighs shake and his shaft becomes impossibly hard and starts to pulse.
“Don’t stop. I’m almost there. Just a little…”
I grip him in a tight fist my hand now working in tandem with my mouth. His eyes never leave mine as he shutters and releases deep in my throat.
Seth pulls himself free and those pillow soft lips immediately find mine. He tastes like
chlorine and summer and something I recognize as uniquely him.
When he pulls back his eyes are glassy with unshed tears as he studies me.
“So this is goodbye then?” He asks.
“This is goodbye.” I parrot.
A couple of tears leak from the corners of his eyes, but he squeezes them shut cutting off the flow. “Aw, baby…” I say. My thumb swiping over the ridge of his cheekbone. You’re breaking my fucking heart. He leans forward again kissing me one last time before he stands. His movements are slow and methodical. And there is a slight tremor to his hands when he pulls up his shorts. I see him start the process to morph into the ideal body guard and the elite soldier. His eyes lose their innate softness and his jaw sets in an unforgiving hard line. He pulls in all that emotion and stuffs its somewhere far away from the surface and a little part of me hurts that I’ve
caused this.
“Don’t. No explanation necessary I understand. I do. Let’s just…” he rubs the back of his neck. “Let’s just take it for what it is…I mean was.” He won’t look at me as he speaks and when I sit up, naturally leaning toward him, my hand coming out to rest the back of his knee, he skirts my touch immediately backing away.
“I gotta go. Sin gets in today. I have to get to the hotel and make sure everything is ready.” He still refuses to meet my gaze as he steps into the house. Slipping quietly through the door. I drop back on the lawn chair with a thud.
Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuuuuuck!
I punch my hands into the air and slam my head on the thick padding of the chaise.  I’ve never been a romantic. That’s my best friend Sin, not me. But dammit just this once I wish I was. I wish I had it in me to give him an epic kind of love. The kind that
fills the pages of a notebook and inspires hit songs.
minutes later I catch a glimpse of his broad shoulders, now encased in layers
of fabric, a duffle bag slung over his shoulder, radio piece in his ear, gun clipped to his belt. Those gorgeous brown eyes covered with dark sunglasses and those soft lips I kissed what now feels like forever ago are pressed tight into a thin stoic line. The sound of his boots beat a steady cadence on the wooden floor as he passes in the hallway.
I stand just outside the open sliding glass door, hands pressed on either side of the metal frame.
“Seth?” I whisper.
His footsteps pause halfway to the front door, but he doesn’t turn around.
“I’m…” Terrified that when you walk out that door, you’ll take piece of me. A giant piece that I’ll never get back. “I’m sorry.” I say instead. His shoulders rise and fall with one big heaving breath before he continues toward the door. He doesn’t look at me or acknowledge my unbefitting apology.
I let my head drop forward until it hangs heavy and the muscles between my shoulder blades pull tight. I can’t watch him walk out. Even though it’s the right thing. Possibly the best thing, I can’t watch it. I won’t.  My heart starts to beat faster as the
footsteps move away. I hold my breath when the door opens, and when it closes, I exhale a long-frustrated stream of moist air.
So, this is what a real goodbye feels like? Like someone just placed my heart in a blender and pulverized it.
Yep. This sucks!

Exquisitely Hidden is Adam’s story and the follow up book to Exquisitely Broken, Sin’s story.  This book takes place before, during and after Exquisitely Broken.  I concept I love, by the way. :). Adam’s story is just heartbreaking and one of the most angst ridden tales I have read in a while.  There were a few times I wanted to reach in and slap some sense into Adam.  While this book is M/M there is so much other story including Sin and Jake!  It continues on the Sin and Jake saga at the same time as Adam and Seth’s relationship continue (as it started when Seth became Sin’s bodyguard.
In the end I was super proud of Adam for overcoming everything bad in his life and moving on and finding happiness.  I just love, love that Adam decided to be true to himself and finally not worry what everyone else thought!

Her words break on a sob, and the elegant line of her shoulders trembles. “No one like you.”

I palm her breasts, squeezing the tight nipples between my fingers. Her indrawn breath tells me she likes it.

“Anything you want,” she pants, circling her ass on me. “Take it.”

“I want today with you,” I say, changing the angle of my thrust slightly, but hitting a new spot that makes her moan.

“I can’t.”

I force myself to stop abruptly and start easing out.

“No!” She reaches back and grabs my ass. “Don’t you dare.”

I stop pulling out, but don’t move. She squirms, tries to grind on my cock, but I grip her hips, holding her still.

“Son of a bitch,” she growls. “Finish me, Doc.”

“Do you think I don’t feel how hard that cock is? You want this, too.”

“Obviously,” I force my voice to casual, like it doesn’t matter to me one way or the other. “But I want a day with you more. What’s it going to be?”

I push in and give her a quick, shallow thrust.

“Oh, yes.” She starts circling her hips, and I stop again. “Bastard!” “I’ve told you my terms.”

My cock hates me, silently cursing me in four different languages for not finishing this right now.

“One day,” she concedes breathlessly. “I can give you one day.”

I take off the reins and fuck her until we’re both shaking. We almost fall when our orgasms hit. I ease out, sit on the shower bench and set her on my lap. Greedy, thirsty, we kiss until my lips are numb, her fingers burrowing into my wet hair, my fingers tunneled into hers. I break the kiss, taking her face between my slick hands and searching her eyes.

“One day,” I remind her, panting.

She nods, sucking my bottom lip smiling. “One day.”

One way or another, all men pay for their crimes. Some do their time locked in a cage, while others meet their due karma without a judge or a jury. My debt to society is almost paid, and soon I’ll be free to get my son the justice he deserves. Justice he wouldn’t be due if only I had done my job as his father and protected him.

There’s just one hitch, and her name is Charlotte.

The gorgeous and completely inexperienced paralegal’s mission seems to be making me a law-abiding citizen and not a vengeful son of a bitch. But underneath her prim and proper facade, there is a woman begging to be unleashed. If I wasn’t so hellbent on breaking the chains of pain bound to my boy, I’d be tempted to unravel Charlotte and show her what it’s like to ditch the law and walk on the wild side. And there’s no time for me to succumb to her efforts to make me a decent man. I’ve agreed to prospect for the Satan’s Knights MC, and my pretty little paralegal is about to learn there ain’t nothing noble about a man who sells his soul to the Devil in the name of revenge.

*Editorial note: Breaking The Chains is the second book in the Satan’s Knights Prospect Trilogy. Fan’s of Janine’s Blackout Duet will immediately recognize Bishop, but all readers can enjoy this novel as a steamy, suspenseful standalone.*

I am sitting here trying to figure out how to describe this book and do it justice. I really like the descriptive way Ella Fox writes her characters and the setting. I wish I could move to Charlotte’s Cove. It seems like the ideal small town. I was charmed by Ashley and her family in Charlotte’s Cove, as well as the family she made for herself there. She and Tyler are so likable and relatable.  Even though it felt a little insta-love, the chemistry between them was so hot and Tyler was such a tough, sweet heart. He is definitely swoon-worthy.

This is the first book in the Charlotte’s Cove series. I am really looking forward to the next one. Fingers crossed its Ben!

Author Bio

USA Today Bestselling Author Ella Fox has learned a bunch of stuff along the way but the most important of all those things is that anything is possible when you try. In 2012 she took a big leap of faith and published her first book, Broken Hart. Since then she’s written fifteen more full-length books and several novellas– and every one is a reminder that you can live your dream as long as you work for it.
Ella’s favorite things are music, movies, traveling, her dog Mona and, of course, reading. This isn’t a surprise considering the fact that her mom is USA Today Bestselling Author Suzanne Halliday.

The premise of this book was intriguing.  Twin brothers growing up in different circumstances – one extremely weathly (Julian) and the other poor (Bridge).  When tragedy strikes, the rich father propositions the poor twin to stand in for the other brother and take over the company.  Sounds complicated?  Yep!  Sounds weird? Yep!  Sounds intriguing?  You betcha!  I have to admit the book was better than thought it would be since the premise is the Bridge falling in love with Isobel (Julian’s fiancé).  Ms. Van Dyken weaves a tale of family secrets, mystery and a few things I did not see coming!  Love when that happens…

I’m not staying here. I’m not a damn dog he can order around. I’ve limped halfway down his driveway before I suddenly feel myself lifted off the ground again. He brings me back to the steps, sets me down, then puts a bag of frozen peas on my ankle.
“You need ice and to stay off of it. But from what I’ve seen, you don’t really listen to instructions well.”
“I don’t respond to commands. Especially not from strange men who just moved here and apparently don’t know the proper way to treat a lady.”
He takes a deep breath and blows it out forcefully while rubbing his face. “Well, we wouldn’t be strangers had you told me your name now, would we?”
Maybe I missed the exhaustion in his face when we were in the woods. Or maybe he’s just now letting it show. But the black circles under his eyes don’t lie. Shoulders that were strong and broad in the woods are now angled toward the ground, his muscles relaxed. We may have gotten off to a rough start, but the man did just carry me for about a half mile.
“Cora,” I say quietly.
“My name is Cora,” I yell out of spite. He rolls his eyes but can’t hide the smirk. “Well, it’s CoraLynn, but nobody calls me that other than my mama and Mae.”
“Can I ask you somethin’, Wyatt?” He nods, tucking his thumbs into the top of his duty belt. “How come you’ve been here for a few weeks but nobody’s even met you yet?”
“Started on night shift and slept during the day. Today’s my second day working day shift. It sucks and I’m tired.” I giggle. “That’s far from rumors that have been swirling
around town.”
“Good stuff, huh?”
“There is.” Not wanting to elaborate further on that, I look to the west and see the sun has set. It’s getting dark. “Then again, from our experience today, I’d guess half of it is probably right.” Rising from the step, I stand and brush off the dirt that’s still stuck to my ass from falling. He pushes off the front porch pillar that he was leaning
against and digs in his pocket, coming out with his keys again.
“I’ll drive you home.”
“That’s really unnecessary. I just live…”
An annoyed grin appears on his face, and he leans down close to me. “Are we really going to continue this game?” He thinks I’m playing a game? Fine. “Okay then. Drive me home, Officer.” I smile sarcastically, and he looks intrigued but doesn’t question.
Wyatt’s arm wraps around my waist, and his fingers hold strong to my hip. God he smells good. He gives me more help than I probably need to walk around the car and into the passenger seat of his black Dodge Charger. I hold it together as I watch him jog back to the driver’s side. I stifle my giggle as the engine purrs to life. I don’t laugh as he backs out, puts it in drive, and presses on the gas.
“Right there.” My voice cracks as I try to hold in my laughter.
“My house is right there. The second driveway on the right.”
As he pulls into my driveway two houses down from his, I no longer hold it together. My laughter fills the car. “For a cop, you really suck at observation.” I open the passenger door as he reaches for his handle. “I promise you, I don’t need any more help today. But thank you.”
“Have you always been this stubborn?” he asks.
Memories of years ago flood into the forefront of my brain. Memories from back when I knew nothing of the turmoil life could bring. I can feel the smile disappear from my face, and I look to a flower that’s hanging upside down from his rearview mirror.
“No,” I say quietly. Movement from the driver’s seat snaps me out of my daze, and I flash him a quick half smile, then hop out of his car.
Author Bio
C.E. Johnson is an author of contemporary and suspense romance novels. When not writing until all hours of the night (with lots of late night coffee runs), she loves to read books that feature a strong male with a soft spot for his feisty heroine. She prefers stories that rip your heart out completely, then kindly place it back into your chest with a HEA.

She lives in a suburb of Chicago with her husband, two kids, and some spoiled rotten animals.

Libby Lane was such a fun read! I didn’t realize when I started it there was an element of suspense. These have been my favorite types of books these days. I loved Wyatt and Cora. They are such a fun couple. Wyatt was so standoffish in the beginning but as he began falling for Cora, the reader realizes how sweet and romantic he really is. I love books like these-the gruff, alpha male falling for his woman and showing his sweet side. I am new to this author but will definitely be reading more!

DIRTY LETTER By Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward Release and 5 STAR Review!!

Title: Dirty Letters

Authors: Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward

Release Date: November 5, 2019

Publisher: Montlake

She had yet to meet him but had never forgotten the British boy who’d warmed her heart.

As childhood pen pals, Griffin Quinn and Luca Vinetti couldn’t have been more different. Over the years, through hundreds of letters, they became best friends, sharing their deepest, darkest secrets.

Until one day it ended.

Griffin never understood why Luca disappeared. She was special. She knew the real him like no one else. He writes her a drunken letter, an angry one, never expecting her to write back.

Before they know it, they’re right where they left off. This time with heat.

But as playing catch-up goes from fun to flirty to downright dirty, Luca wants more. She wants Griffin in the flesh. That’s where it gets risky. Because when they meet, the mystery will be over. And once they really get to know each other, there’ll be no going back.

The small dining room table had a pile of mail. I’d had Dad’s mail forwarded to my house, so mostly it was just catalogs and junk. Once a month, Mrs. Cascio sent me everything that arrived, even though I’d told her it wasn’t necessary. I mindlessly fingered through the pile, not expecting to see anything worth keeping. But I stopped at an envelope addressed to me—well, not me, but Luca Ryan. That was a name I hadn’t heard in a long time. In second grade, my teacher, Mrs. Ryan, started a pen pal writing program with a small town in England. We weren’t allowed to use our real last names for safety reasons, so the entire class used her last name—hence I was Luca Ryan. I checked out the return address for the sender’s name.

G. Quinn

Wow, really? It couldn’t be.

I squinted at the postmark. It was from a PO box in California, not England, but I didn’t know any other Quinn other than Griffin. And the handwriting did look pretty familiar. But it had been close to eight years since we’d exchanged letters. Why would he write now? Curious, I ripped it open and scanned right to the bottom of the letter for the name. Sure enough, it was from Griffin. I started at the beginning.

Dear Luca,

Do you like scotch? I remember you said you didn’t like the taste of beer. But we never did get around to comparing our taste in hard liquor. Why is that, you might ask? Let me remind you—because you stopped answering my letters eight damn years ago. I wanted to let you know, I’m still pissed off about that. My mum used to say I hold grudges. But I prefer to think of it as I remember the facts. And the fact of the matter is, you suck. There, I’ve said it. I’ve been holding that shit in for a long time. Don’t get me wrong—I’m not obsessive or anything. I don’t sit in my house thinking about you all day long. In fact, there have been months that go by when thoughts of you don’t even enter my brain. But then some random thing will pop into my head out of the blue. Like I’ll see some kid in a pram eating black licorice, and I’ll think of you. Side note—I’ve tried it again as an adult, and I still think it tastes like the bottom of my shoe, so perhaps it’s that you just have no taste. You probably don’t even like scotch. Anyway, I’m sure this letter won’t find its way to you. Or if by some miracle it does, you won’t answer. But if you’re reading this, you should know two things.

  1. The Macallan 1926 is worth the extra cash. Goes down smooth.
  2. You SUCK.

Later, traitor, Griffin

What in the hell?

Dirty Letters is about pen pals, Griffin (living in England) and Luca (from the States), who are seven years old when they first meet. Their letters change over the years of writing and eventually they lose touch. An angry letter from Griffin starts the letters back up and we read about how life has changed (the bad and the good) for Griffin and Luca.

I connected with this book on so many levels. I know a married couple who were pen pals when they were young, the man also being from England. I have always been in love with their love story! I also had a loved one who loved birds and I believe that cardinals are messengers from Heaven. Doc, the bird lover, is a secondary character, but is such a lovely addition to the story. He helps Luca with her anxiety and agoraphobia. I really appreciated how these authors tackled the issue of anxiety and PTSD. Being in the field, I was thankful that they did not make Luca sound “crazy”. Yes, she has issues from a past experience, but she is a wonderful and successful woman as well.

I can’t get enough of these two authors together. They are so accomplished individually but together their books are fantastic! Can’t wait to see what’s next!
